Troubled, But Not Distressed!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (March 18, 2019)

Paul told in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 how weak he was as well as our being on this planet.   Paul says: “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;  Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;”  Paul goes on to say that God will never forsake us regardless of the situation.  The Lord  never abandoned Paul in his situation.  Paul was spared by being crushed and broken.

Every single person on this planet has troubles including pastors.  Either two things are true about your situation in life right now, you are either having trouble or headed toward trouble.  I am grateful that no matter what situation we are in that God can deliver us from our trouble and we are all surely to come out of our troubles.

One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 40:31.  An eagle never escapes a storm, it just uses the storm to be lifted higher.  This verse tells us “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”  When storms come into our life we can rise above them by placing our minds toward God.  God has the power to let us rise above any storm we may face.  Amen!
