The Church!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (September 6, 2019)

Jesus told Peter, "I will build my Church." Many people believe the church is a building with red brick. Do we really understand what the church is? We must realize that the church is not a building, but people with a purpose.

We are clearly told in Hebrews 10:25 that we should not "forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some; but exhorting one another: and so much more, as ye see the day approaching."

The mission of Christ should be our mission. The church is in the business of praying for people to be healed. The church should be like a hospital to those who are hurting. I have always sensed that a church should be a "safe place" where people feel like they belong. When people are at church they should sense a belonging and security. People should know that they are loved when they are at church.

Just remember, the church is not just some building with four walls, it is a place of safety, security, acceptance, belonging, familarity, care, and love. The church is a part of the family of God. Amen!
