He Is The Potter & We Are The Clay!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (July 26, 2019)

One of the hymns we grew up singing in church was a song entitled “Change My Heart Oh God,” and one stanza goes like this, “You are the potter and I am the clay, mold me and make me, this is what I say.”  Friend, there is one thing for certain, as long as God is on the throne, you will never run out of hope.  In Jeremiah chapter 18 and verse 4 we read these words: “so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.”  In this passage there is one word that sticks out boldly and it is the word “so.”  This word “so” is full of faithfulness, kindness, grace, love and patience.

God looks at all of us who are made out of clay and recognizes that we are marred and messed up in our lives.  We all have gotten hard and have scars in our lives. God says, I am the potter and you are the clay and I remold the clay to a point where I can remake it into another vessel and into something that is beautiful.

My dear friends, there is no clay so hard and marred that the hands of God cannot mold it into something beautiful.  Wherever you are in your life, please know that it is never too late to start over.  As long as you are a willing vessel you can always start over with God.  God is always patiently waiting to start over with you.  Always know He is the potter and we are the clay.  He can take you right where we are and it will be amazing what He can make out of you.  Amen!
