Invisible Barriers!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (February 5, 2019)

In Hebrews 4:14-16, we read where the barrier has been removed and you don’t have to go through a high priest anymore to get to God.  Praise be to God that we can come to him as often as we want, stay as long as you want, because the door is always open for us to get close to God anytime we want to.

The problem with most Christians is we have too many invisible barriers in our lives and we come to God only when we want Him to do something for us.  God wants to speak to us and the reason why we typically don’t hear God is because we don’t know how to be still and know He is God.  Most of the time when we go to God we want to tell Him what to do for us instead of listening to what He wants to say to us.  God still speaks to any believer who will listen.

The most important thing we can do if we want to connect with God is: 1).  Find a quiet time and place where we can hear God without any disruptions. 2). Read our Bible on a daily basis, the Bible is the primary way God speaks to us today.  3). Write down and learning what God is saying to you.  4).  Continually pray without ceasing.  This means to pray throughout each day.

Jesus died, gave His life so that we could get close with the God that created us.  I believe that if anyone will DO these four steps above, you will begin to remove the invisible barriers that you have in your life that prevents you from getting close to God.  Amen!
