Good Friday!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (April 19, 2019)

Good Friday is the Friday preceding Easter Sunday.  Good Friday is celebrated every year on the day in which Jesus was crucified.   What is most important about Good Friday is the fact that day should forever be on our hearts and minds because the death of Christ on the cross is really the most paramount event in the Christian’s life.

This is a day where we as Christians should observe through prayer, repentance, and meditation on the anguish and suffering of Jesus Christ on the Cross.  As you celebrate today, what the Lord Jesus did for you on the Cross on this Friday some 2,000 years ago, reflect on some of His last words.

Luke 23:33-38:  “Father forgive, them for they know not what they do.”  Jesus was a Man of forgiveness!  Jesus lived in forgiveness and he died in forgiveness.

Luke 23:39-43: “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”  Jesus was focused more on His mission than his own pain and heartache.  He lived out His purpose on this earth.

Matthew 27:45-46: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”  At this point the Father had turned His face from Jesus, therefore Jesus carried the wrath of God for all of our sins.  Jesus understood the separation from the Father was part of His will.

John 19:28: “I Thirst.”  Jesus was tempted just as we are.

John 19:30 “It Is Finished.”  We must realize Jesus paid it all.

Amen!
