Fearing God!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (May 28, 2019)

There are so many things we can think of that we fear in this life. First we must understand what fear is.  Fear and the “fear of God” are two different things.  Fear only sees the problem and the result of feeling threatened by a state of emergency.  Satan will wedge the emotion of fear into our lives when we do not know the future outcome of a situation, therefore causing frustration and stress in our lives.  This is an invisible barrier that Satan uses as a distraction to get our attention to focus on the situation instead of trusting God with it.

What does it mean to respect and fear God?  The term “fear of God” could very easily conjure up the wrong image in your mind and make you think something of God that you shouldn’t think.  God is not some bogeyman waiting to catch you doing something wrong.

The “fear of God” is that you are in the continual awareness that in the presence of a holy, just and almighty God and that every thought, word, action, and deed is opened to Him and being judged by Him.  We have a choice to fear God.  Proverbs 1:29 says: “Hate knowledge and choose not to fear the Lord.”  We all have the choice of where God is placed in our life.  We must understand the principle to know God is to love God and to know God is to be saved, but it all begins with fear.  Friend, I must be honest, we have lost the fear of God in this nation and we are loosing it more and more every hour that passes on by.  Amen!
