Do You Have Faith Like The Blind Man?

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (February 25, 2019)

In Matthew 9:27-31 there is a story where Jesus touched the eyes of two blind men and then asked them this question: “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” Their response was: “Yes Lord.” Jesus touched their eyes saying: “According to your faith be it done to you.”

So today, the question is, “What is faith? In Hebrews 11:1 the Bible tells us: “Now faith is the substance of all things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” In verse six we are told: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

There are many misunderstandings about faith. Faith is the ability to trust what we cannot see. What is happening in your life right now that you are doubting? We choose the limits we put on faith. I believe when we refuse to limit God and His abilities we are rewarded for our faith. George Mueller was a British minister who says that he had over 30,000 recorded answers to his prayers. Like George, I have seen through faith God answer so many prayers.

No matter what your situation is right now, you should apply what Jesus said, “According to your faith be it done to you.” I’ll close this devotion with Matthew 17:20: “For I verily I say unto you, If you have faith as a grain of a mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Don’t put God in a box because He is able to the mountains in your life no matter what the situation is. Amen!
