Commitment!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (July 29, 2019)

There are many people who are willing to give “some time” to religious activities such as attending church and reading the Bible, and possibly give a little money and somehow they still convince themselves that they are people of genuine faith.  But, do you really count what it will cost you to genuinely be committed to following Jesus?

My friends, to be honest, there are times when Christians get into a “Lay-Z-Boy” faith and just decide to “clock out.”  The problem is, we hear and know what to do, how to live, but we just don’t do it.  It appears in churches that there are seasons where the congregation has dozed off in their faithfulness through attendance, giving, and ministry activity.

Let me be plain, the Lord Jesus will not play second fiddle in your orchestra of your life.  He will not serve as Vice President in the government of your life.  He will not be runner-up in the beauty contest of your life.

God and His work should be first in our lives.  Romans 12:1-2 says: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but ye be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Are you going to be committed to God’s will or your own desires?  Are you willing to make a 100% surrender to Him?  99.9% is not good enough in the eyes of God.  You are either fully committed or not committed at all.  Amen!
