Are You Clocked Out?

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (July 8, 2019)

If there is anything true about our society it is this, we have become an excuse filled society.  I know there are a lot of people who go into ministry and they burn out and drop out for one reason or another and most of the time I believe it is because they did not count the cost.

Psalm 33:4 says, “For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.”  The question for today’s devotion is: “Have you clocked out?”  It’s summer time and to be honest, it seems that many people just clock out of serving and being committed to the work of the Lord because they are so interested in one thing and that is SELF!

One things about the Lord Jesus, He never painted rosy picture about discipleship, commitment, surrender, or the ministry.  The cost to serve Jesus temporary, but the pay is eternal.  How are you going to serve Jesus this summer?  Will you take a vacation from praying, reading His Word, and attending His church?  Have you clocked out because other things are more important?  What excuse are you using?

If you really want to know how much your life is really counting for God, when you go to be every night, ask yourself this question:  What did I do today for the kingdom?  That will tell you how much your life really counts for the Lord.  Amen!
