Boomerang!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (August 13, 2019)

A boomerang is a device, which when thrown properly follows a singular curve, then returns back to the hand of a thrower. In essence, when you throw it, it comes back to you. Did you know that sin always promises more than it can deliver? Charles Spurgeon said, "Sin is a kind of boomerang, which goes off into space curiously, but turns again upon its author, and with tenfold forces strikes the guilty soul that launched it."[1]

Have you ever been cheated or taken advantage of? Have you ever cheated someone or took advantage of someone? The Bible teaches that "for whatsover a man soweth, that shall he also reap" (Galatians 6:7) There are many ways that people can take advantage of others.

When you are cheated, wronged or in a situation where someone has taken advantage of you, wait patinetly on the Lord, who is the ultimate judge of every person. Remember, it is God who says in His Word that each person will reap what they have sown. Take these matters to the Lord no matter how hard or unfair it may seem. I pray the scriptures below will help you in these tough situations that come into your life.

--Job 4:8 - "Those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap the same."
--Hosea 8:7 - "They sow the wind, and reap the worldwind."
--Numbers 32:23 - "But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out."
