Be Still
One of the most important parts of a Christians life is quiet time with God. My encouragement is to find a secluded place where you can draw close to God without any distractions. When I say no distractions, I mean no interruptions from TV, telephone, people, traffic, or noises.
The important part is setting aside enough time on a daily basis to meditate and pray about what God brings to our heart and soul. I have found in my own prayer life that drawing near to God is very rewarding and I look forward to it each day. Psalm 46:10 says: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
I’ve been to Gethsemane, the place where Jesus would go and pray. The Bible tells us: “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed” (Mark 1:35). In Luke’s Gospel we read where: “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Friends, we must take time out of our busy lifestyles to “BE STILL AND KNOW HE IS GOD!” Amen!
