Adultery!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (March 29, 2019)

I have done an in-depth study through the Book of Ecclesiastes recently.  In chapter 7 and verse 26 we read these words:  “And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands.”  This passage is saying that adultery is more bitter than death.

We are in living today in a society that says, “do as you please.”  God gives us a solemn warning about the sin of adultery.  As Christians we must learn that our only true satisfaction can be  found in the person of Jesus.  Everyone is searching for satisfaction and fulfillment in their life.  People will go to extreme measures to try to attain it and look everywhere, but in Christ.

We must heed to the warning that God’s Word says regarding adultery.  Through Solomon, God warns us in this passage that adultery is more bitter than death.  The only way to have victory in any area of our life is to stay in fellowship with Christ.  Our only safety can be found in Him and if we fail, it is because we failed in our relationship with Him.  The only escape found in Ecclesiastes 7:26 is pleasing God.  Amen!
