As a pastor I spend a lot of time around people who have been hurt and are experiencing brokenness in their life. I know exactly what it feels like to be hurt by the words and actions of others. To be totally transparent, I have experienced some hurt in my own life over the past few months by the words and actions of others. I have concluded that many times people don’t even realize it when they are hurting others.

My friends, one reason God gave us the Bible is because when life hurts and the lights of our life go out…He gives us the life or His Word so that we can gain strength and comfort when we need it.

Psalm 119:50 says: “This is my comfort in my affliction for thy word hath quickened me.” There is nothing that gets me through the depth of my day other than going and reading and studying God’s word and searching Him and letting Him speak through His Word.

I made this point in a sermon four years ago and I will stand on it every time I am faced with life’s hurts. GOD CAN USE THE HURT IN YOUR LIFE TO EQUIP YOU TO HELP OTHERS WHO ARE ALSO HURTING! Amen!
