The Tongue!
The tongue is a very small part of our body, but it is so powerful that it has the power to destroy people and their lives. The Bible gives us a clear warning in James 3:2-8. The Bible says: “Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.” Our tongues should be sanctifying and controlled by the Spirit.
We must realize that the little organ that we call a tongue can ruin and defile your life. In verse 8 we are told: “the tongue can no man tame…” That means that no man has ever mastered his own tongue and can get it completely under control. What we must realize is, what is impossible with man is possible God. If we are living a surrendered life under the Holy Spirit, our tongues will be under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Let us pray Psalm 141:3: “Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.” Let us use our tongue to glorify God in all that we say. Amen!
