Prayer Life - Part III

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (July 12, 2019)

Jesus communicated with His Father often.  Jesus prayed for guidance and wisdom while He was here serving on earth in His ministry.  He would pray for others to come to know Him as their Savior and Lord.  He prayed for His disciples and their protection from the enemy.  God prayed with joy and praise.  The most important thing is that Jesus knew that His Father heard His prayers and would respond.

--Jesus prayed with reference and respect to the Father.  Matthew 26:39 says:  “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."

--Jesus prayed during times of suffering and sorrow.  Luke 22:44 reads:  “And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”

Our goal as believers in should be to pray just as He prayed.  Amen!

Amen!
