Our Mission!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (April 1, 2019)

We live in a world of hurt.  Today there are hearts, homes, and hopes that are hurting.  The mission of the church is to touch the world with the message of hope.  In James 5:13 the Bible asks: “Is anyone among you suffering?”  Today, there are many people inside and outside the church that are going through hardships, afflictions, and troubles.  Hard times are going to come and go through each of our lives.  In this particular passage, James asking about the emotional impact of our lives.

There are many people who are even hurting from a spiritual standpoint.  Many feel as though God has somehow abandoned them.  The Church has been commissioned to carry out the ministry of compassion, restoration, and reconciliation.  Our job is to work with others in building relationships and trying to restore people who are hurting.  Many burdens we have are too hard and heavy to carry alone.  How many times do you tell people you love them or that you are there for them and then you just brush them aside and go your own way?

What we must learn in our life is that reconciliation is only possible through King Jesus.   I know that the mission for the church that our pastor is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.  Let us be reminded of 2 Corinthians 5:18-19: “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”  Our mission is to be called to a ministry of compassion and reconciliation.  Amen!
