Open Your Bible!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (February 11, 2019)

The first thing many of us need to do is open our Bibles more and pray asking the Holy Spirit to guide us.  The Bible provides:
1). Understanding!  “Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures.”
2). Power!  II Timothy 1:7-8: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;”
3). Healing!  Psalm 147:3: He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
4). Truth! John 8:32 says: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
5). Salvation!  Romans 10:9: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
6). Conviction!  II Chronicles 17:9-10 says: “And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people. And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.”  [The fear of the Lord is conviction].
7). The Final Word!  John 12:47-48: “And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”
8). The Scriptures are about Jesus!  Acts 18:28: “For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.”
Conclusion:  My friends, open your Bible and you are sure to find what you’re looking for.  Amen!
