The Message of Hosea!

From The Heart of Pastor Shane (April 4, 2019)

When you read Hosea chapter 1 in the Bible, we clearly see our heavenly Father.  What you see is the heart of a loving God.  The Bible says: “For God so loved the world.”  We see the love of God in the Book of Hosea.

The greatest sin is the sin against love.  David said in Psalm 51:4: “against thee and thee only have I sinned and done this evil in my sight.”  What we must remember is that the great purpose of Christ was to seek sinners.  The heart of Jesus was always after sinners and if we are not too careful we can get very complacent and have an attitude of complacency and depend on sinners to come to us.  In Hosea’s life we get the vivid picture of God’s redeeming love seeking after sinners.

We must be reminded of Luke 19:10 which says that Christ came to “seek and to save that which is lost.”   The truth be known, when you start studying the love of God, it is revealed truly rebellious we really are.  If we want people like Hosea’s wife Gomer, to be brought to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, then we have to seek after them and go after them.  That’s the heart of God being demonstrated through Hosea.  Amen!
