Do you love it when people give you things?  It’s always a blessing when I receive a gift from someone.  In Acts chapter 20:35 Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”  Do you believe that?

I realize that there is a blessing in receiving.  Yet, we are told that there is a greater blessing and that is the blessing of giving.  When we give, we get in on God’s greatest blessing.  Do you realize that God is the greatest giver of all?  God chose to give us life.  This world is here because God chose to give it existence.  We all have the opportunity to go to heaven because God chose to give His only begotten Son, Jesus who died for our sins so that we could have eternal life.

There is a great lesson to be learned in life when it comes to giving.  Giving does not take from you what you should not have.  Giving gives to you what you would never have if you did not give.  The Word of God teaches that the more we give, the more we get back.  God is the greatest giver in the world and nobody can out give Him.  It’s my prayer that people will see the blessings that simply come from the giving of our time, talents, and treasures.  Amen!

God and His work should be first in our lives.  Romans 12:1-2 says: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but ye be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
